Privacy Statement

The purpose of the Huzizit service is to disclose information about the owner of an item to the person finding it. As such, information which a member chooses to disclose to a normal item search is therefore public. This information is only revealed on a search for an item code or membership number. It is not possible to search for a members name, address or other contact details or to browse a list of members or registered items.

Information which a member chooses to flag as "hidden" will not be revealed on a normal item search. It will be disclosed to qualified authorities at the discretion of Huzizit management. These authorities may include law enforcement, government agents and other agencies which have a legitimate reason to trace ownership of an object.

Members are under no obligation to provide personal information, though if only an email address is given it will be more difficult to trace members in order to restore their property.

Member information disclosed to our billing partner in order to verify credit card transactions is not available to Huzizit.

Huzizit management may from time to time send mail to members using their secret contact address in order to announce changes to the Huzizit services or for other administrative purposes. Secret addresses will not be disclosed to any other agency, except as a result of a court order or similar action.

Huzizit management may from time to time send mail to members using their visible contact addresses in order to promote new business on behalf of Huzizit or other organizations with which Huzizit has entered into agreements. Such organizations would be ones whose business might reasonably be expected to be of interest to Huzizit members, such as insurance or security products. Addresses of Huzizit members will not be given to non-specific marketing companies.

Huzizit may make use of an e-commerce agency in order to accept credit card payments online. Contact information may be gathered by the agency in order to validate the credit card transaction. This information is not transferred to Huzizit.
